PlexusAP is a project to enable a number of Linux HostAP based access points join together to form a routed mesh. It is derived from initial work done by SOWN as an alternative to MeshAP.
It is our goal not to be tied to a specific Linux distribution. Anybody should be able to take part in the plexus using their favourite distribution.
In a nutshell HostAP allows prism2 based wireless cards to be placed into Master (Access point mode), it also offers the ability to create virtual links to neighbouring acces points. By automatically assigning such links IP addresses and through the use of a routing protocol such as OSPF we can create a fully routed wireless mesh.
